As an inorganic non-metallic material with high hardness, high melting point and high chemical stability, white corundum is mainly composed of alumina, with a content of over 98%. In 2023, Binzhou's white corundum production capacity reached 100,000 tons, with an output of 75,000 tons and an output value of 310 million yuan, accounting for 15% of the global market share. Its production capacity, output, revenue and market share all ranked first in China, and the main producer is Binzhou Qinai New Materials Co., Ltd. located in Zhanhua District.
On the morning of July 11, the second stop of Binzhou's "The Story Behind the Brand" mobile themed interview event arrived at Binzhou Qinai New Materials Co., Ltd. Entering the company's production plant, a busy scene unfolded in the workshop: high-temperature molten slurry was being tapped, large cranes were moving back and forth, and staff were operating machinery to bag and package the finished white corundum products. Over the years, the company has continuously increased investment in science and technology and cooperated with the country's most renowned equipment manufacturers, achieving the industry's top rank in terms of electric furnace diameter and output.
According to Hu Jinkun, General Manager of Binzhou Qinai New Materials Co., Ltd., the total investment of the project is 180 million yuan, mainly focusing on the production of white corundum materials and tabular corundum materials. At present, the first phase of the project has reached an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of white corundum. The second phase project, which includes an annual output of 50,000 tons of tabular corundum and an expansion of 200,000 tons of white corundum per year, will start construction in a timely manner in the third quarter. After the completion and operation of all projects, the annual sales revenue is expected to exceed 1.5 billion yuan. The successful launch of the project provides strong support for the development of the downstream fine alumina industry in Zhanhua Port Industrial Park.
