Qinai Maintains No.1 in China! 15% Global Market Share of White Corundum in 2024!

News from China Powder Network Recently, according to Binzhou Network, Binzhou Qinai New Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Qinai") achieved an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons for white corundum in 2024, with a global market share of 15%. The company ranks first in China in terms of white corundum production capacity, output and market share.


White corundum has a Mohs hardness of over grade 9 and a melting point as high as 2000-2050℃. These properties enable it to perform excellently in high-temperature environments, with little thermal expansion or cracking. Meanwhile, it has good acid and alkali resistance. As one of the commonly used high-hardness abrasives in industry, white corundum is widely applied in fields such as abrasives, refractory materials, ceramics and electronic materials.


Using industrial alumina powder as the raw material, white corundum ingots are obtained through melting and smelting at a high temperature of over 2000℃ in an electric arc furnace, followed by cooling and crystallization.


The white corundum ingots obtained after smelting and cooling weigh several tons each and cannot be directly used in industrial production. Therefore, they need to be further processed and crushed into particles of different sizes to meet various application requirements. Based on particle size, white corundum is mainly classified into the following types: White Corundum Lump Sand (white corundum sand within two particle size ranges), White Corundum Grit Sand (conforming to standard-specified models), White Corundum Fine Powder (fine lump sand that can completely pass through a specific sieve), and White Corundum Micropowder (ultrafine powder with a particle size generally less than 60 microns).


With over 40 years of experience in the white corundum industry, Qinai is a professional enterprise engaged in the production, sales and export of corundum series products, alumina-based refractory materials and abrasives. It currently has two main production plants: Qinai New Materials Co., Ltd. is located in Boshan District, Zibo City, and Binzhou Qinai New Materials Co., Ltd. is situated in Zhanhua District, Binzhou City. The existing equipment includes: the Zibo plant has 2 sets of 2000 KVA tilting furnaces and 2 crushing lines, with a monthly white corundum production capacity of 1,500 tons; the Binzhou plant is equipped with 2 sets of 6300 KVA tilting furnaces, 1 set of 12500 KVA tilting furnace and 2 crushing lines, boasting a monthly white corundum production capacity of 10,000 tons.


The white corundum produced by Qinai New Materials Co., Ltd. is made from high-quality alumina powder through electrofusion, refining and crystallization. It features high purity, excellent self-sharpening property, resistance to acid and alkali corrosion, high temperature resistance and good stability. It is widely used in sandblasting, grinding, polishing, cutting discs, grinding wheels, bonded abrasives, coated abrasives, precision casting, refractory bricks, castables, ramming masses and other fields.


At present, Qinai has successfully established a global sales network, which covers Mainland China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, India and European countries.
